Vincent Fikar – painter, illustrator, and photographer
Vincent Fikar (born May 26, 1994, in Cheb, Czech Republic) is a Czech visual artist, painter, illustrator, and photographer. His work primarily focuses on the depiction of animals, which in his interpretation become carriers of emotion, symbolism, and human stories. His artistic expression blends elements of realism, naturalism, and surrealism, allowing him to explore nature and existence from unexpected perspectives.
A distinctive feature of Fikar’s work is his combination of watercolor, spray paint, and colored pencils, often complemented by oil painting. Through this synthesis of techniques, he has developed a unique signature style — a fusion of delicate color sensitivity, dynamic gesture, and expressive energy.
In his paintings, Fikar examines the relationship between humans and animals, reality and dream, life and transience. His art often carries a symbolic, melancholic, or dreamlike undertone, inviting the viewer to reflect on the emotions and instincts we share with the natural world.
Vincent Fikar has exhibited his works in over twenty solo and group exhibitions both in the Czech Republic and abroad. He has also illustrated several books, including The Book of Spinning and Sweetheart with Garlic (2024).
